Contact Lens Corner

Contact lens technology has made remarkable progress. With today's wide variety of lenses and materials, nearly anyone can be fit with contacts including teenagers and even younger children with special needs.

Contacts improve appearance and enhance self-confidence. They are ideal for sports. For those not eligible for LASIK, contact lenses may be an excellent choice. Soft lenses provide a convenient, comfortable way to correct vision and change eye color and are even available as bifocals. Low cost daily, weekly and monthly replacement lenses simplify care and promote good eye health.

Gas permeable contacts provide exceptionally clear vision, especially for astigmatism, and have been shown to reduce progression of nearsightedness in children.

Specialty lenses are used for keratoconus, presbyopia, post-operative eyes, irregular astigmatism, children, cosmesis, and corneal rehabilitation. Specialty contacts can be fit to reversibly reshape the cornea and reduce nearsightness.
